Thank you to everyone who sent me all the birthday wishes last Friday! I am now as old as a bloody peasant named Dennis. ("I'm 37, I'm not old!") Anyway, on to the news, and yes there is some...

WHAT'S LUKE PLUGGING NOW?:

- "SHELDON'S DELIGHT"
My new song parody tribute to "The Big Bang Theory"
Available for free download at The Funny Music Project
www.thefump.com

After years of doing geeky parodies of hip-hop hits from the 80's, 90's, and 2000's, I finally decided to parody the great grandaddy of them all, 1979's "Rapper's Delight" by the Sugar Hill Gang. My subject this time is the Emmy and Golden Globe award winning, just-renewed-for-3-more-seasons, nirvana of nerdiness sitcom smash, "The Big Bang Theory". If this were an episode of the show, I'd title it "The Impersonation Aspiration", because I attempt to perform the roles of Leonard, Sheldon, Howard, and Raj all by myself. Was the experiment a success? Results pending, click play to initiate humor attempt sequence. Music by Ph.D. Dr. Benjamin Stahl, Foley by M.Eng. Ken Sherlock, with cake server Sara Trice as Penny.

MARSCON - “TABLE 27" IS LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS

Our huge double-wide merch table for the acts of the MarsCon Dementia Track is returning once again, and we need people to staff it. In exchange for your services, you’ll get a free badge into MarsCon for the weekend. Table 27 is just outside the doors to the Main Stage room, and will be open during the Dementia Track concerts, on Friday from 8:30 pm to Midnight, Saturday from 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm, and on Sunday from Noon to 4:30 pm. We will do our best to make sure our volunteers don’t miss out on anything at MarsCon they really want to see or do. We have 4 volunteers already, and we’re looking for 2 or 3 more volunteers to help run the table during those times. Our goal is to have 3 people behind the table at all times when it is open, so if we have 6 or 7 volunteers, that should be easy to figure out. So if you’re willing to give us some of your time at MarsCon to help the Dementia Track in exchange for a free weekend badge, email me at thegreatlukeski@gmail.com . Thanks.

- LUKE & CARRIE'S BAD RAPPORT

We've put out two new PodCast episodes since our last proper e-mail update:

Episode #031 – The Snort Of Subconsciousness
Carrie told Josh and Luke that they were going to go to Chipotle for dinner, and then she made them go to Noodles & Company instead. The fact that this episode of our podcast has music by Carrie Dahlby, Judy Tenuta, Adam Sandler, and Brian Posehn does not change the fact that Carrie’s unwillingness to take a one minute walk around the building to the other side where the entrance to Chipotle was on this not-as-cold-as-it-has-been-lately evening meant that Josh and Luke were deprived of their burrito-riffic deliciousness. All Luke could think about as he wrapped up his recurring bully story segment, discussed the future of finance as it relates to Napster and Star Trek, and explained why he was standing in his bedroom in the dark for 5 minutes in the middle of the night 2 days ago, was the spicy chicken shaped void in his gullet, and just how cold and bleak the winter solstice really can be… …He also thought about how by the time he got home his in-laws will have finished installing the new dishwasher and garbage disposal. So, Happy New Year everyone!

Episode #032 – The Cuddle Vortex
Amazingly, this episode is a short one at only just over an hour and a half. We’ve discovered that the secret to making short episodes is to go into them with virtually no content whatsoever. How little content you ask? In this episode we call Ken and ask him to update us on the NFL Playoffs. Seriously. We did. Then we paused the podcast so we could watch clips of the 90's sitcom “Herman’s Head” so we could discuss it on the air. You think I’m lying for comedic effect, but I’m totally not. There’s a song based on one of last week’s News of the Stupid stories by Possible Oscar, as well as songs by the awesome Mike Phirman, the Beastie Boys, and Rebecca Drysdale. Also in this episode we discuss the formation of a league of awesome character actors, and Carrie recounts her magical trip to the Five Star Indoor Swap Mart. We hope you’ll find this episode satisfyingly electrifiable.
