The Flash player has been replaced!

The new player is HTML5 and I have confirmed that it works on all of my browsers, my Android phone and my iPad 2. The best part is that is a user has an old browser that does not support HTML5, it will fall-back to a Flash version.

Please let me know if you have any issues with it.

Actually I found a new HTML5 player that I think will work. I will be coding it into the new beta site Stavro and I are testing now (on a new 64-bit server). I'll let you know when we make the move to go live.

It seems that the "Flash Plug-in"s for different browsers are what is causing security issues. I don't have any problems with the Flash videos that I make. I know HTML5 is supposed to be the next "Big" thing but I paid good money to buy programs to make Flash banners and videos. It will be a shame if I can no longer use them.

DT: I believe "Apple" stopped supporting "Flash" a while ago.

I feel a general mistrust of Flash out there on that series of tubes.

It might be because of the vulnerabilities or Adobe's constant updates to it to fix them - OR it could be an external push for sites to adopt HTML5, much in the underhanded way MS is trying to force its users to accept that crappy base version of Win10.

During the site update some years ago, I had all the browsers to check that the site functions worked properly everywhere. The ones I still use have the same mistrust for Flash - disabling it if it's not updated. You may have to tinker with each browser's controls to get Flash to function.

I have my FF auto-disable it everywhere until authorized on one site or another. This stops annoying vids on some sites from autoplaying as well.

The flash player on the mad music doesn't work with my Opera browser. It works on my Firefox browser. Something in Opera must be blocking it.

It would be nice/sensible. Flash is an increasingly vulnerable format. An update to HTML5 is long overdue. I made the suggestion to him a while back.

Quite a bit would have to be altered to make it happen. He's going to have to clear a lot from his schedule to tackle something like this.

Are there any plans to replace the Flash player with another player? I had to reinstall Flash in order to get the show streams to play. Is Flash being phased out?
