Things happened & I needed to rest yesterday & today. The actual show playlist & other details were finished earlier in the week. It's just as well. It feels as if I went to bed on Tuesday and now it's suddenly Friday. Missing whole days like that is bad, I'm reasonably sure.

At any rate, new show this weekend. The first half, at the very least. "99.8% SFW"

In retrospect, the whole "non-request playing" is likely my own damn fault because I insist upon such esoteric themes that requests don't fit into easily.

Ex: I would never do a show about just "dogs" as that isn't strange enough - and not strange = very, very dull. But I did interrupt a perfectly good show about monkeys (because I f*cking hate monkeys) to do the rest of that episode about dog abuse. Just "dogs" wasn't good enough; it had to be something specific about dogs.

I'm just crazy like that.

Months? You're fortunate indeed. Most of these requests are years old.

Requests are difficult for TMMS since there's a theme to each show and the majority of requests don't fit it, so they can't get played. These all-request shows try to fix that, though it's almost always waaaay too late.

It's even harder to request for the podcast since the songs on that have to be CC compliant. Requests often get on TMMP by sheer coincidence.

I'm already playing one of your "Weird Al" requests (Avocado) in the new show. It's just a one hour show, so one request per hour to be fair to all. More than one is ok for longer shows.

As it happens, my playlist needed only one more 3 minute song to make it a full hour - making 'Ball of Twine' too long. These request shows write themselves since the songs are already there and I don't have to pick & choose for a theme, so it was all but complete yesterday.

I'll play that Firm song to complete the hour. Gotta love The Firm.

It's that time again. Time to go into the big request file that I made to contain all the auto-mailed requests that I couldn't play because none fit the theme I was working on that week and make a show out of just those requests & nothing else.

As it happens, there's a whole pointless holiday to contend with tomorrow when every jackoff with a car will be out there to make your existence miserable if one is stupid enough to want to drive during a public holiday. A perfect day for us forcible retirees to stay the hell home & possibly...assemble a new Mad Music Hour.
