To paraphrase Samuel L. Jackson, I have had it with these motherf*ckin' vines in my motherf*ckin' yard! I've been at it for weeks and I've finally taken them all out...in the front yard. They remain in the back. But enough is enough.
It's time for a break. Daily exhaustion is getting older than me. I'll go back to it after I get some household chores done...and make this show. I changed it again. The window of opportunity for the old theme has passed as I let it go too long - just like my yard. Guess what this one's about now. Go on. And I'm hosting the damn thing myself. No vampires...hopefully. New show in the next few days. I'm starting to forget the Audacity settings I use for these things, so I'd better get on with it before I have to relearn everything - again.

Hmm...maybe Celestra should host this show - and part of show 157. Maybe...possibly. Uncle seems to have the voice working well in Audacity - "ah, zey weren't supposed to know zat". Bollocks! He's got ME quoting Hellsing Ultimate Abridged now! It's all irrelevant anyway. Uncle is too zonked out from shoveling out of 2 very minor but separate storms to even finish a half hour show. At this point, he'd say something like "Don't laugh. You'll be 72 one day." Well, you living people might, but I'm only 52, and I look more or less the same as I did when I became undead in 1989. Uncle always gets pissed off when I mention that. At any rate, as usual, due to exhaustion this time, this is going to take longer than advertised. When I said "Don't hold your breath" in the previous post, I wasn't screwing around.

This is almost done. Oddly enough, it won't be the show's assembly or recording that delays it, but rather that I can't decide which character should host it. No matter which one does, the script will have to be altered to accommodate said host and that's what will take the most time. Some shows are planned in advance to do nothing more than be silly & be loaded with mind screws causing as much "grievous mental confusion" as possible - because it's always the most fun that way. When I work out which silly character can bring about that state of things best, this show's posting won't be far behind. But don't hold your breath...

Old anime meme was old. This one - not so much. It's unlikely that Celestra Arrgula (younger sister of Viscount Vyslo - and not nearly as crazed) will actually host this podcast, but stranger things have happened. It's probably just another mind screw...maybe.
I just thought a more current meme would make a better show title. Also, the strikethrough doesn't work so well on this page title. Something new learned - can't be bad.

Priority goes to filling the gaps in the show numeration. Show 157 (Halloween 2012) and the Xmas 4 show I just skipped (MMS-223) will be filled in with half hour shows as placeholders. Then a new show of some kind, then more fleshing out of old shows, starting with the most recent, then moving back.
Why am I so adamant about sorting out shows from years ago? I've noticed that visitors always seem to be viewing our old holiday show pages no matter what time of year it is. Since they get a lot of hits, it'd be nice if they weren't incomplete, wouldn't it?

So I'm assembling this podcast on MLK day and it occurred to me that another death themed show was stupid considering I had the flu for the first time in decades. And my podcasts no longer had themes, but I was making one anyway. I must really be ill...
As I said elsewhere, my health is crap & I'm always at the hospital it seems, but I simply don't get sick. Ever. Until now. The flu must really be bad this year. It's been a couple of weeks & I still don't feel quite right. My doctors aren't happy about that. It doesn't help that Wayne won't/can't send me a new spreadsheet of podcastables. Mine's over 2 years old. The solution? Make up a new type of Mad Music Show that's actually a half hour like the podcast. I post the segments one at a time anyway, so the shows always start as a half hour. Then more is added. Or not. The death theme is excessive (and I've already done it), but what about a show about being sick? ...Make that "ill'. There were those (when anyone else was alive around here) who said I was rather sick all the time, so I've got to get the nomenclatures right. Hmm... A half hour show that's not a podcast about being sick - made by necessity...because I've been sick. That's too good. How could I resist making such a show? It seems I can't. I couldn't resist the damn flu, so... There's a snowstorm going on out there, so I'm not going anywhere today - it's very nice to have the option - so I can assemble such a show today. 2 days to shovel out, 2 days to recover from each effort. And every year, recovery takes a bit longer. Now that I can escape the driveway, I have to wait for the damn holiday to be over to go out & get things done. But not before preparing to - making out checks, shopping lists. I'm suddenly as busy as Wayne.

The thread says that Tyro will host it, but screw it, I'll do it myself. Less pitch to change in Audacity. All I need to do first is shovel out my car, go down into the town to pay bills & buy necessities and then spend a day or 2 recovering from all the shoveling - "Don't laugh. You'll be 72 one day as well." There's a backlog of these show threads for shows I never made. It's winter; I can't go anywhere; so it's time to get on with making those shows.

I do, too. The specialists have been wearing me out of late. It's not the appointments or even the procedures. It's all the damn travel. It's almost like I have a job again, only my job is "long commute patient". Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease. As for the shows, it's just nice to have an MMS posted again. Tyro or Viscount Vyslo will host the next podcast I make, but I insist on making the anime themed show myself. The characters will be in the songs and not doing the hosting for that one.

I am still working on a Mad Music Podcast, but I had a Mad Music Christmas show all ready recorded. All I needed to do was edit it together. So it became MMS-214.
I hope you are feeling up to finishing one of your shows soon.

That's ok. I've been the one doing all the delaying hereabouts. Forces that flatten less resolute old bastards have been working me over for the last few months. I'll get to recording the 2 completed shows, but household tasks that I've put off (multiple doctor's orders) for too long need tending to...Have you vacuumed your living room anytime this year? I haven't - that sort of thing. The dust bunnies are huge. I've also resolved to get to washing the dishes sometime this month. After that, showtime.

Voice not improving yet. I've 2 new shows ready to go & I can't do anything about it. Not yet, anyway. Maybe you could make a new podcast for now if you're feeling up to it and just remind me at 1 or 2 am EDT when I'm uncontrollably wide awake and I'll put it on iTunes. This can become show 50. It always bothers me when there are these big gaps in show posting. I should have asked when all this started. The assistance is always appreciated though the 'old bastard' side of my nature doesn't say so often. Apropos of nothing, I use this 'Georgia 14px' font as it's easier for me to see. It'd be nice if I could lock it in so I didn't have to change it every time I post something. Just a thought.

Getting old does suck sometimes. Sorry to hear you are having medical difficulties again. I am not that much younger than you, so I can relate. You know I'll try and help out where I can. You just need to ask if you need me to make a new show. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Fun Fact: Neck biopsies (9 very large needles in your neck) play hell with your voice. This one is also complete. Both this MMP & the new MMH get recorded when my voice is no longer crap. But then I say that all the time, don't I?... Maybe Dave should start making these podcasts. How does that line go? "I'm getting too old for this sh*t." There's a big difference between 61 and 71. At least for me there is.

This one's almost done. In this podcast, 'Tyro' will have less snide commentary than usual. There'll be more when I feel a bit better. Right now, I just want to get this one posted. If you want shows with more tracks & less commentary (or the opposite), just say so. For that matter, if you like the 'Tyro' or 'Viscount Vyslo' voice better, mention that as well.

Medical annoyances are done for this week. Yay! I can focus on this show a bit more now. I say 'a bit more' since I saw live mice in my car on the way home from the hospital. Now I have to de-mouse my car as well as the house. This is going to take a while. It's not like I can poison them. Would you like your car interior smelling like decomposing mice? I think not. Setting traps won't distract much from making this episode though. Hopefully, this one will be posted next week with the anime show following shortly thereafter. That one's already complete, so I just have to record it. 'Tyro' will host this podcast even though I have to adjust the pitch with Audacity to make his voice a tad higher. This is supposed to make him sound younger. I've no idea how effective this is, but whatever.

Tired of this crap. I no longer care why he's annoyed with me. I'm bored, so I'm going to make this show in the upcoming week or 2 assuming all the equipment still functions. There'll be minimal change. I think Dave was onto something with limiting the oldies in the podcast. One or 2 should more than sufficient. Otherwise, it'll be the same old bollocks. Some relatively new FuMP tunes along with fewer oldies and some other CC compliant things you haven't heard in a while. That shouldn't be so dull, yes? If this goes well, the hour long anime themed show will be next.

It's 3 am. Something silly's going to happen...no, not silly. Needlessly stupid.
I'm shutting this production down until I get a response from Wayne. Any response. He's been avoiding answering my mails for one reason or another. If I find out that it's the reason that I suspect and not just 'things happening', the shutdown will be considerably more than temporary. And it was going to be such a clean show...

It's long past time I made one of these. Making a shorter show will also give me a bit of time to put together the St. Patrick's Day Show. I gave up on themes for these podcasts quite a while ago. I figured if it was just a half hour, it'd be better to go crazy with features like Old Fart Corner. I really need to come up with a new one. And Wayne really needs to send me a new spreadsheet with the updated list of podcastables. Though I'd be content if he just fixed that 'Funky Butts' thing first. It's not like I can do it. It's starting to drive me nuts. If only that was the only thing doing that.
