Wacky Ben here. Since I am retiring from spinning funny music in January of 2027 after 22 years (not 21 as I mistakenly said), I wish to announce some topics I have planned for the remainder of my run. There's not too much, but between now until December 18th, I will be taking requests during my final run.
July 3rd: all-American (songs about America, the things that make America feel America like fast food, and songs about the 250th birthday)
September 4th: Star Trek (celebrating 60 years of Star Trek)
September 18th: pirates
October 16th to 30th: Halloween
November 20th: Thanksgiving
November 27th: winter/snow
December 4th: Hanukkah part 1/Logan Whitehurst
December 11th to 25th: Christmas/Hanukkah part 2 (on December 11th)
I wanted to give the topics one final chance during the show's final run before my retirement. My final all-American show where I'm really hoping I can get a few songs relating to America's 250th birthday. A Star Trek episode to celebrating the 60th anniversary of Star Trek. One last tribute to Talk Like A Pirate Day. Our final 3-part Halloween show with an all spooky themed Wacky 5. One more serving of Thanksgiving songs where I'm also planning some musical turkeys unless for the winter show the following week where I play a few winter themed songs from the season, the snow, and holiday shopping. Lastly for the month of December, our tribute to the 20th anniversary of the tragic death of Logan Whitehurst, plus the first set of Hanukkah songs and a few Christmas songs. Then for the final three weeks, all Christmas songs including a Christmas themed Wacky 5 and one more set of Hanukkah songs on part 1 of the Christmas show.
After that, I'll have four final shows in January of 2027 and I start off with The Wacky 30 of 2026 as it'll be my last ever end of the year countdown and will be the final show to ever air on the Internet Radio Network. Then between January 8th to the 22nd, a three-part finale completely uncensored and commercial free, and will only be available for listen on madmusic.com and archive.org. Part 1, I haven't fully decided what to do with that episode aside from a short tribute to the FuMP's 20th anniversary. Part 2 will be another top 30 countdown where I countdown 30 of the most popular songs on every countdown I hosted from 2013 to now. And finally on part 3, my own personal selection of favorite songs throughout my then 23 years of playing comedy music, and counting down the top 30 artists of my 15 years as a podcaster.
