Actor and comedian Thom Sharp is from Dearborn, a suburb of Detroit, Michigan. He is well known for his voice over work and as "that bald guy in the ad for...". He went to Dearborn's Sacred Heart High. Thom later attended Henry Ford Community College and received a bachelor's degree in marketing from Eastern Michigan University and a master's degree in communication from Wayne State. He currently lives in Sherman Oaks, California.

He had a local hit in Detroit in 1977 with the song "They Don't Make Nun Names Like That No More" and also he wrote "I Don't Know Whether to Kill Myself or Go Bowling."
