As you know I've been scarce and the show production erratic. Just so you know why I'm busy, here's my to-do list...

(see other blog entries about moving and building a new shed).

Oh, and BTW, I need to have this all done by August 17th (2 weeks from now) (157 hours of work total - 119 due in 2 weeks)...

Here's what I've already done (153 hours of work)...

Properly ground all outlets (5 hours)
Order blinds (vertical) (2 hours)
Pick up pergo for L.R. & D.R. (2 hours)
Rebuild steps to Florida room (2.5 hours)
Paint ceiling in L.R. (3 hours)
Paint ceiling in Kitchen/hall (3.5 hours)
Paint trim in L.R., D.R, Kitchen & Hall (8 hours)
Pull up old carpet (4 hours)
Install pergo in L.R. & D.R. (26.5 hours)
Re-run data wiring (inside walls) (26.5 hours)
Fix wall in bedroom closet (2 hours)
Remove conduit for porch outlets (2 hours)
Remove old data wiring (2 hours)
Repair walls in Office & Bedroom (3 hours)
Paint Dining Room walls (4 hours)
Paint Bedroom walls (6 hours)
Install blinds (vertical) (4 hours)
Order replacement windows, L.R./D.R. (1 hour)
Order replacement window, B.R. (1 hour)
Order windows for side porch (1 hour)
order vinyl siding (2 hours)
Tear down old shed (9 hours)
Build new shed foundation/floor (8 hours)
Start building new shed (20 hours)

So as you can see - a lot to do and little time to do it.

I expect the show to go back to weekly production after the move - the beginning of October

It looks like Captain Wayne version of really "EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION" without Ty Pennington and the gang.

That's the first thing that came to my mind.

Well, it was more than just data wiring - I ran (3) CAT5 and (3) COAX to every room in the house. I now also have a patch-panel (MDF) in the laundry room - you can patch any CAT5 to be a any phone line or LAN - and you can make any COAX satellite or cable. Or any combination of the above.

My estimates are close, but if off, it's usually low - there's always some hitch and the occasional run off to the lumber yard or Home Depot.

re-run data wiring? I hope the tenants appreciate it! Now a-days many folks just use wireless.

How close were you on your time estimates?

You're pretty handy!

I'm glad I didn't have that much work to do on my place before I put it on the market. A bit of plumbing and a ceiling repair.... quick paint job and that was it. Probably 20 hours total.
