Can't confirm. In the Dr. D. show this appears in, Barry says that "Joey Callahan wrote this for himself". No reference to Second City or SCTV comes up...but the show's link goes to a page where the song is credited to Second City.

This is the point where I admit not being a fan of SCTV when it first aired, so I know precisely bollocks about it beyond the obvious things. There's also a comedian with that name on Facebook and SCTV appears nowhere on the page although he appears to be old enough to have been on it. Maybe it's a different guy, maybe not - "but I do not gamble with maybes". 

The net doesn't confirm the connection either. Need more info as everything I've seen & heard denies the connection.
