Without John Cleese, the writing for the series was seen by the Pythons as not being as good as in previous seasons. The series ended after only 6 shows were made for the season. (Stavro Arrgolus) |
In the final series, the opening sequence uses "Monty Python" (pictured) rather than the entire name, though the entire name does appear briefly at the beginning of the sequence. This opening doesn't appear in this episode. The gag is to make the viewer believe they're watching a documentary about ballooning, complete with fake BBC announcements and threats that the government would jail the viewer if they didn't buy the "Golden Age of Ballooning" merchandise.
