Inside The Label
Introduction
Oh Happy Boy is a CD from 2010 featuring more commercial parodies and reissues of older material,
some of which are edited versions with the offending words bleeped out.
It includes several new songs such as "Fan Speculation", and the title track "Oh Happy Boy."
Commercial spoof subjects range from automobile culture to restaurants.
Reissues of older material (some with edits) include "Mambo 90210" and "Britney Spears"
recorded in 2000.
The title track's inspiration came from a small street that was paved
over by a highway in 1970.
Beginning in 1998, Tanny has created memorable dementia songs heard on podcasts and
Internet radio streams as well as a few terrestrial radio stations.
Some of the places Tanny has been heard include Friggin' Here,
Bofore Radio, Ed's Mixed Bag, The Mad Music Archive, Mad Music Dementia
Top 20, dfsxradio.com, David's Top 10, Dalecast, Comedy Music Cellar, Tone Deaf Radio
Show, and The Dr. Demento Show.

Full Background About The CD
David Tanny has produced a collection of souvenirs from 1998-2008.
This CD features 27 tracks of comedy, novelty, weird, commentary, and nerdcore.
01. Fan Speculation (2010) - an original rap that goes into pop culture without limiting itself to sci-fi topics.
02. Man Up Centers (2010) - is broadcast network TV turning men into wimps? Something like this should shape them up!
03. Britney Spears (2000 mix edit) - An original song whose melody was based on an old Wrigley's Spearmint Gum (get it?) commercial set to relevant lyrics at a time when all the parodies making fun of her endowments were on morning show radio.
04. Mambo 90210 (2000) - A parody of Lou Bega's "Mambo Number 5" giving an opinion on a long running TV show that has long since overstayed its welcome on Fox.
05. Puff Super Cigar Crisp (2006) - puff your way through breakfast with this Wacky Pack ad.
06. Stinking Hills Country Club (2010) - a commercial spoof about a whitebread club that doesn't treat their low-wage workers well.
07. Crazy Ray Autos (2009) - a crazy automobile dealer goes nuts with the prices!
08. At Least I Know How To (edit) (2007) - everybody knows how to do at least one thing, right?
09. Lo Jerk (2009) - going to extremes in punishing people who steal cars.
10. Aquaman take 1 (2009) - a parody of a 1997 pop song.
11. Watch The Frog 2 (edit) (2006) - the sequel to the Watch The Frog sketch, written a year before CBS and Time Warner decide to partner up with a new CW netlet set for September 2006, while The Frog network croaks on the 17th of September that year,
12. Wrong John Silly's (2010) - just recorded weeks before the CD's release in May 2010. This spoofs a restaurant that specializes in overgreasy menu items.
13. Oh Happy Boy (2009) - a song dedicated to a small street that was paved over by a highway in 1970. It's a combination of doo-wop, Frank Zappa, Wildman Fisher, and Jonathan Coulton influences. Funny thing to know, this song was written a few years before I heard of Jonathan Coulton in 2005. The song chorus was thought up in 1970, but lyrics and bridges were written in 2003.
14. John John (2009) - be sure to keep your satellite car navigation paid up, or else it will play a trick on you!
15. Girl, You Drive Me Wild (edit) (2004) - How a boy band would be surprised at what they're singing about.
16. Mutant Girl (2008 mix) - An original rap song about an encounter with an unusual lady.
17. Carhax (with music) (2010) - just recorded weeks before the CD's release in May 2010. This spoof deals with selling mass quantities of lemons!
18. Popeye the Farting Man (2007) - need I say more?
19. Snubway Sandwiches Intro
20. Snubway Sandwiches (2010) - what happens when those five dollar footlongs don't really mean what they advertise.
21. San Diego Radio Sucks Intro
22. San Diego Radio Sucks (edit) (2006) - my plight with listening to corporate radio in so-called America's Finest City. Radio is as bad as it was when I was a kid with virtually nothing for me to enjoy. Today, with our collective knowledge about comedy music as a genre, legal download services, and playlist sharing, commercial radio as an influencer is rendered completely obsolete.
23. San Diego Radio Sucks Outro
24. Stinking Hills Country Club with music
25. Hammer Vice (instrumental) (2010) - an 80s-esque mashup of a soundalike melody of the theme of "Miami Vice" with an opening riff of the theme from "Gumby." I might have called it "Gumby Vice" instead.
26. Dancing with the Trains (2010) - filler to help make it a 60-minute CD. A spoof on the announcement about stupid reality show contests.
27. Carhax (w/o music) (2010)
