The Peels were, in fact, a "studio group" put together by Tash Howard, the record producer. Tash said he was given a 'deal' by Metromedia .. a MILLION DOLLARS (never to come back again!). The master was sold originally at "Midem" in France to many individual countries by Mr. Howard.
Tash Music was the original publisher of the song and in 1990, Temkin Music purchased the copyright and has spread this song to other artists and, also as a result, Juanita Banana was "Whistled" in a feature film released first in France .. and then in many French and Spanish speaking countries throughout the world!
