fiogf49gjkf0d Not really the first case of YouTube saying no. My performance video for the Epic VG medley got taken down by Warner Bros for the parody of Hotel California. I appealed, saying parody is fair use. My appeal was rejected, and the video is banned in the US. YouTube is run by robots, not humans, who constantly reject my claims for monetization of my videos, despite the fact that I create all the content in them. UK Chiptune artist Superpowerless had his channel's monetization taken away from him b/c they believed he was clicking his own ad links, and wouldn't respond to any of his appeals b/c no human reads the emails. If the studios don't want to allow YouTube to feature parody, despite fair use, they just won't allow it. Warner shut down my video, and YouTube can't be easily reached to appeal. Sucks.

fiogf49gjkf0d Not Warner Music again. I'm having the same problems with monetizing my video issues, and they're not even songs. I had two strikes, and just said screw it and stopped monetizing. It's getting harder to parody a song using the exact background melody used in the original. What's next? Warner going after people who sell parodies of their songs? This is getting scary.

|
fiogf49gjkf0d That's why I worry about the future of our scene. I'm constantly worried they'll go after the FuMP one of these days.
|
|
fiogf49gjkf0d They could also go after the podcast shows and sites such as Music Alley that have parodies of songs.

fiogf49gjkf0d Well, if it doesn't get bagged before then, I have a suggestion for next week's GANGNAM WATCH:
Nasa Johnson Style = www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Sar5WT76kE
And thanx for the Hobbit segment: been waiting for someone to do it, and you did a good job.

|
fiogf49gjkf0d There will likely be no Gangnam Watch on the 21st, unless a holiday-themed one comes out. Haven't found one yet.
That said, the NASA one is actually listed on MadMusic.com for voting :) I did find it.

fiogf49gjkf0d to: Bird Puppet Guy (soloist in "Grapes" by Power Salad)
Excellent solo! You are definitely the master of the bird puppet. That was the most ultimate bird puppet solo I have ever heard!
Just wanted to say that I also have one of those bird puppets, in red, and your superb mastery of the instrument puts my meager talent to shame. But, I still strive to become more proficient. Practice does indeed, a master make.
I actually added a fake arm and turned it into a 3rd arm puppet that gives the perfect illusion that the bird is moving by itself. Wish I had some photos or vids for you to see, but sorry, none. I still have the contraption somewhere in my garage, but I don't do those kind of shows anymore, alas.
Happy Holidays, etc...'nuff said Gary
