The Mad Music Archive is a web site that has been providing great resource and community for comedy musicians and comedy music fans for the past five years. The site was created and has been maintained by Captain Wayne Ross this whole time, based purely on his love for the genre of dementia/comedy.
Recently it has been becoming more and more difficult for the Captain to pay for the rather large site fees on his own (This includes ASCAP, SESAC, and BMI license fees). A few Archive members suggested that a fund raiser CD be put together to help raise money to help the Captain out with the site fees.
That is why with the approval of Wayne, I am sending out this message to all comedy artists. We ask if you might be interested in donating a song to this fund raiser album to help the world’s best comedy music website. Let's say as of now the deadline for songs is January 25, 2009. We will select ourselves the ones that will be featured.
To enter a song send the following to oddaustin@gmail.com:
-A link to a high quality WAV file of your recording
-The artist name and song title (Just in case it’s not obvious)
-It is strongly encouraged that the song be previously unreleased any where else
You also enter your song to be included in this fund raiser album with the full knowledge that all proceeds for the CD will be going directly to keeping the Mad Music Archive from shutting down. This means that no royalties will be paid to the artists of the songs based on sales of this release you should only enter your songs if you love this amazing comedy music promoting website, and don’t want to see it disappear.
