Damn, this is good! This guy (me) should get a full time talk radio show. (bryant2607@comcast.net)- Steelstringslider
Facts:
  • The 2 guitar parts were recorded with a Martin D-42 (Koa back and sides, Engelmann Spruce top, from the Custom Shop). Also used a Fender Jazz Bass Guitar. All 3 parts of the vocal harmony are me. Basically, it's Steve and The Steve Tones. I learned the guitar parts for the song back in 1972 when it first came out. Never thought I'd be using it for something like this. It's one of the best things I've done, I hope you enjoy it. I use all my parodies on my Sunday radio show from 2-5 PM, EDT, on WGMD in Rehoboth Beach, DE. I am hoping to create enough of a buzz with all my parodies to get a full time talk radio show. (Steelstringslider)

    Rupert Murdoch
    A Parody of “Operator”
    New Lyrics by Steve Bryant

    Rupert Murdoch,
Could you help me hack this call?
You see their voicemail is full and the password is old and faded.
I need this done today, won’t you show me the way.
You do this everyday, that’s why you’re so hated

Isn’t that the way you get your prose,
    But let’s forget all that,
Help me hack the number if you can find it,
So I have a shot at a Pulitzer Prize and to show
I want the world to see,
    They have no privacy
I’m on a hacking spree; I’m in it just for me
Who cares if hacking’s a crime, the press does it all the time.

    Rupert Murdoch,
I was caught hacking the call,
I got arrested for the number that you just gave me.
They said that I’ll do time,
My career’s not worth a dime.
Could you spare a lawyer or two to come and save me?

Isn’t that the way they say it goes,
    They bust the little guy.
While people like Murdoch go on forever.
Answer some questions and turn out real fine, and it shows.
    Think you’re above the law,
    No matter what we saw,
    You’ll just deny it all.
    It’s not your last hurrah,
It could all make you cry
    You even dodged the pie.

    Rupert Murdoch,
They can prove that I hacked the call.
I called your office several times, but you just ignored me.
While I’m doing time, I hope you answer for your crime.
You’ll probably just pay a fine.

Isn’t that they way they say it goes,
    You just apologize.
And claim you knew nothing about the hacking,
And throw everyone right under the bus, and it shows
    You’ll never take the blame,
To you it’s just a game,
    As you protect your name
    It’s all so freakin’ lame
    It just doesn’t seem real.
Maybe I’ll win on my appeal.
