Song Lyrics:
[My uncle has been visiting us from Ireland for the last few weeks, and I'll tell you, he has been absolutely bothered by something that he's seen on our American television and radio. He's very upset about one thing in particular, and he wrote a little bit of a song about it...and ladies and gentlemen, I thought I'd share it with you guys tonight]

I've just come to America from the Emerald Isle
From the lovely land of Ireland, to visit for a while
I heard on the radio a commercial for some beer
The drink that makes me think of home, and the pub I love so dear

The ad on the radio mentioned the name "MacKenzie"
From Cork or County Mayo, it's a wonderful family
He had the nickname "Spuds" like so many Irish boys
Who have found eating potatoes a source of Gaelic joy

I had Spuds pictured as a rugged red-haired lad
But then with shock and anger, I saw the TV ad

Well, Spuds is not an Irishman, but a stupid ugly hound
They're knocking the Irish people with that reject from the pound
They've taken an Irish drink, an Irish name, an Irish food
And they've linked them with that horrible mutt with the slimy attitude

It's gotten to the point where watching TV is hard
I'm afraid I'll see an ad confusing St. Patrick with St. Bernard
And if it's true what people say, that Spuds is now a star
Then there's a celebrity look-alike doing his business in my yard!
