fiogf49gjkf0d Here it is - www.madmusic.com/playlist.aspx?Show=MMS-180
It occurred to me that the show title suggested that I sort of had to post it on Thanksgiving weekend. Because it's a Christmas show, I at least wanted to wait until December to post it, so it's a day early.

fiogf49gjkf0d This show is scheduled for a Monday, 12/2 release. This places it firmly after Thanksgiving weekend, but well within the week+ of Hanukkah.
I've got to move on from this point so I don't fall behind. I only managed one show last year and that's not happening again. If I want all four completed, I have to keep going.
Even though the show has to be sat on for a week, there's no law saying the segment mini-theme titles can't be released. There's only a limited amount you can do with the subject matter, so holding back for the surprise effect is a bit pointless.
Seg 1 - You Better Watch Out... (Santa Goes Crazy)
Seg 2 - Get Your Ass Back On The Ass, Harry! (Hanukkah Harry gets a boot away from the Thanksgiving nosh and back to his donkey cart to deliver toys to all the good Jewish kids)
Seg 3 - I Get To It All...Eventually (A segment of requests from last year that I wasn't well enough to make shows for then)
Seg 4 - Is The Turkey Kosher? (more Hanukkah songs)
Seg 5 - It's Not Stuffing; It's Schmutz! (even more Hanukkah songs)
Seg 6 - Christmas Goes Where? (about places where Christmas can be...mostly)
If this upcoming storm knocks out the power for an excessive amount of time like 2 years ago, this show will just have to go out when it goes out and that's that.

fiogf49gjkf0d This nears completion. When it's done, it'll be uploaded, timed for a weekend auto-release (that sounds dirty) and the next show will be gotten on with.
Since there are 4 full shows and limited time, there will be absolutely no hunting everywhere for requests that aren't here already and don't have mp3s.
As always, these shows will be quite irreverent and occasionally profane, but not excessively so. Just occasionally. They'll also be packed with classics & favorites which will make for some good listening. This is what many members return for at this time of year.
Change of plan - I'm adding another Hanukkah segment to this show, so it'll take a bit longer. I still have some time, so nothing should be late at all.

fiogf49gjkf0d The Fools are a Boston band, so I'd include them anyway. "Support your local artists" and all that.
Show 181: "Xmas 2013: I've Got Your North Pole Right Here!"
Subtlety and Xmas simply don't go together. I had to put this thread out now because of the Thanksgiving/Hanukkah thing, but the next one can wait until the season actually arrives.
Oh, yes, and since there's a segment for last year's requests in this show, the bit about mentioning a name only once per show has gorn orf just for this episode.

fiogf49gjkf0d One of the segments in this show will feature requests from last year that were made for a show that I couldn't manage to make. It may take me a while, but I get to them.
For some inane reason, I've got it in my head that it's somehow become a tradition for my Xmas shows (going back to when I just assembled them for Wayne) to begin with a particularly nasty/snide segment about Santa. I unconsciously started doing it with this show as if it was the most natural way to begin the first (and only the first) Xmas show.
This is just how traditions start, I would imagine.
It's hard to take the tempermental temperature of a potential audience towards this year's holiday season and then apply just the right amount of cynicism to the subject in it. It's not like I have any live relatives I can ask. Are people more indifferent to the season than last year? Are they more annoyed about the need to spend? I don't spend a dime on Xmas (not directly anyway; we all pay for it one way or another), so I don't know. Maybe you guys can tell me.

fiogf49gjkf0d It's on the same day. I'm not even going to go there.
Suffice it to say that due to this, the Hanukkah songs have to be in the first show (which ends that weekend - possibly Monday) and requests for them need to be now.
Of course, the whole show won't be Hanukkah songs, just a couple of segments, maybe a little more. The rest will pick up on the Santarchy I couldn't complete more than one show of last year. And why #180? Because Dave AuJus is making show 179 so I'll have time enough to make these at all.
I think I can manage a little more this time...I hope.
