This ...and this. Been there, done that, got the t shirt.

The first example is the (heavily thought out) definition of what dementia music was (circa 2010). The culture's changed a lot since - and not for the better. The 2nd example was MMS-163 - the show that questioned the definition. Make of those what you will if you read my definition & hear the show. I'm told it came out ok.

The most recent discussion was about songs that are demented enough to be included or not to this site. I recently thought back of a short lived segment on my old show I called “Demented or not?” where it was up to the listeners to decide whether or not a song was actually funny enough to be included on madmusic.com. No responses. Nine years later after that whole failure, I’m here once again asking if the list of these following songs I played on that segment are worthy of the title “demented.” Or as what I like to call “wacky” because I’m not Dr. Demento.

Godzilla - Blue Oyster Cult (already added last I checked)

Indian Outlaw - Tim McGraw

My Jeans, I Want Them Back - Lauren Christy (listen to episode 228 of Wackiness On The Rise from June 4, 2021)

If I Said You Have A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me - The Bellamy Brothers (a compilation CD of funny country songs included this one)

I’m Afraid Of Britney Spears - LiveonRelease (already added as it’s played on episode 281 of Wackiness On The Rise from June 10, 2022)

I Can’t Dance - Genesis

And as an extra bonus that wasn’t played on the segment:

Jesus He Knows Me - Genesis

Now the big question is are any of these songs close to being demented, or wacky? Or are they not close enough?
