I just made my first new compilation album live today. I retired the Stupid Audio series and since I have a lot of other stuff I want to mix in to add more variety, I launched the Audio Lab series of albums.

The first album is Audio Lab Volume 1.

Tracks (and background)

(cc) Attribution, Non-commercial, Share Alike
(xx) = non Creative Commons

(cc) 01. "This is SATV station I.D. with announcer" (released on 2/26/2008) - a takeoff on the SCTV station identification jingle.

(cc) 02. "Program Advisory: Lady and the Tramp" (2012, released on 9/18/2012) - a parody of one of the network announcements when they are substituting a special in place of a regularly scheduled program.

(cc) 03. "Goin' Back to L.A. (2010 mix)" (released on 6/5/2010) - celebrates the old days of driving 120 miles to Los Angeles to hear the Dr. Demento Show because the fan's hometown wouldn't carry the show on their radio stations in the fan's radio market. The driving trek takes place on a Sunday in 1981 when the Doc used to do a live four-hour show on a now-defunct radio station.

(cc) 04. "Krazy Crackers" (2004, released on 9/13/2005) - another Wacky Package come-to-life fake ad.

(cc) 05. "KSB" (2010, released on 1/11/2011) - used in the 2010 mix of "Kirk Spock Bones"

(cc) 06. "A Banana Riddle (From the Ed Zingity Show Episode #24-11) - The Riddle Man and Ed Zingity" (6/30/2024) - The Riddle Man tells a corny banana riddle on The Ed Zingity Show.

(cc) 07. "Lemon Radio News: Area Man Sticks With VHS - Royal Deadman" (2012, released on 2/18/2014)

(cc) 08. "Tonight at 8" (2007, released on 2/26/2008) - a parody of a network programming announcement.

(cc) 09. "Hammer Vice" (released on 5/25/2010) - an 80s-esque mashup of a soundalike melody of the theme of "Miami Vice" with an opening riff of the theme from "Gumby." I might have called it "Gumby Vice" instead.

(cc) 10. "Taco Hell (2008 mix)" (released on 8/19/2008) - remixed for 2008. It's a parody of a fast food restaurant featuring a manager from the fires below. It's a a flaming mad commercial where a customer really gets the owner/manager of a taco stand very angry all because he wouldn't buy a drink.

(cc) 11. "Watch The Frog Intro" (released on 10/5/2004) - an introduction to the Watch The Frog sketches

(cc) 12. "Watch The Frog" (released on 10/5/2004) - a sketch on how I would deal if that annoying announcer on the radio tells me to "Watch The Frog" network, which is now defunct when it merged with UPN to form the CW network in 2006.

(cc) 13. "Kentucky Fried Fingers" (released on 7/18/2006) - yet another Wacky Package come to life. This features chickens that go psycho.

(cc) 14. "Answering Machine Message" (1992, released on 10/5/2004) - Something I created for my answering machine in 1992.

(cc) 15. "Mac vs. PC Spoof: Atari vs. Intellivision (alt music)" (released on 11/3/2009) - this time, it's 1981, and the Mac vs. PC style invades the early video game console battle.

(cc) 16. "Hey, Three Stooges!" (4/3/2012) - a break-in piece where I ask the questions and the most of the answers are provided by one recording by The Three Stooges called "The Alphabet Song", or as it was introduced on the song, "Swinging the Alphabet". This one has a twist as parts of the song are rearranged to form new words to answer some of the crazy questions that are being asked.

(cc) 17. "HDTV Dinners" (2007, released on 2/26/2008) - upgrade your dinner to high definition.

(cc) 18. "Taco Hell: Bleu Taco" (2017, released on 10/20/2026) - a promo for a "special" limited time menu item that's designed solely to pad their profits.

(cc) 19. "ECC-Cable Test Channel" (2014, released July 8, 2015) - part of the satirical Early Cable Channels of the 20th Century series.

(cc) 20. "Life" (2014 released on 10/20/26) - a backing track for "Life Before The Computer"

(cc) 21. "Burger Dictator (2009 mix)"  (released on 7/24/2009) - what if the burger place was a dictatorship instead of a monarchy?

(cc) 22. "Lemon Radio News: Area Man Feels Fuller After Eating a Meal - Royal Deadman" (2012, released on 2/18/2014)

(cc) 23. "Funnyback" (released on 4/6/2010) - an official tribute song of my 2000-2010 decade of releasing weird recordings.

(cc) 24. "Bum and Hairy's Ice Cream" (released on 10/20/2026) - a parody of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream

(cc) 25. "Hey, WKRP! (2026 edit)" (edit released on 10/20/2026, original released 4/2/2015) - The characters of the TV show WKRP in Cincinnati get a send-up with a crazy break-in interview by Kirk Cameron Swayze that mixes in the songs from mid 1978 to mid 1979 and adds in some novelty songs along the way! The 2026 edit is shortened up by half a minute.

(cc) 26. "Commercials on mp3 (the original 9-minute mix)" (released 6/4/2011) - a medley of fake commercials set to a dance beat

(cc) 27. "This CD Is Brought To You By #1" (released 10/20/26) - fake closing sponsor announcements

(cc) 28. "This is SATV station I.D. w/o announcer" (released on 2/26/2008) - same as the first track without the announcer.

Bonus Tracks: early mixes or re-mixes wholly owned, demos, etc., of same songs above; available on bandcamp and madmusic

(2007 mix)" (released on 2/26/2008) - celebrates the old days of driving 120 miles to Los Angeles to hear the Dr. Demento Show because the fan's hometown wouldn't carry the show on their radio stations in the fan's radio market. (cc) 30. "Taco Hell (live 2013 mix)" (released on 7/23/2013) - remixed for 2013. It's a parody of a fast food restauraunt featuring a manager from the fires below. It's a a flaming mad commercial where a customer really gets the owner/manager of a taco stand very angry all because he wouldn't buy a drink.

(cc) 31. "Burger Dictator (live 2014 mix)" (released on 8/29/2023) - a live parody of the Burger King spoof.

(cc) 32. "Commercials on mp3 (single version)" (released on 12/26/2014) - a medley of excerpts of crazy commercials mixed to a dance beat. It's an edited mix of the nine-minute "Commercials on mp3" released in 2011.

(cc) 33. "Taco Hell: Bleu Taco with Bed Music" (released on 10/20/2026) - a promo for a "special" limited time menu item that's designed solely to pad their profits with background music from "Hip Hop West Coast Hustle 1"

(xx) 102. "Hey, WKRP! (orig mix)" (released 4/2/2015) - The characters of the TV show WKRP in Cincinnati get a send-up with a crazy break-in interview by Kirk Cameron Swayze that mixes in the songs from mid 1978 to mid 1979 and adds in some novelty songs along the way!
