No no no no I don't read it no more
Fan mail is such a bore

Yeah exactly. Why did he have to make his fans feel bad like that? He's lucky that he knew a lot of good musicians in his life that played backup for him!

So do I. I'm fond of the solo stuff, too. But you've gotta be realistic & draw the line somewhere. Ringo's no Paul. Or Brian Wilson. Hell, he's not even Mike Love, for smeg's sake. Sometimes the ghods of fortune smile and flippin' great wodges of cash fall into your lap when they could easily not have. Quite a few artists manage to put it all together with that sort of thing at that age. I could live with it. As long as you live the lifestyle, pay the devil his due. ..And maybe hire one of those services that sort out fan mail.

I do appreciate Ringo's music. Both as a Beatle and solo. But he's been at it a long time. He's been reading fan mail and signing autographs since before many of his fans were even born. Certainly longer than most people who get famous in the music biz. I can certainly understand if he wants to redeem the time spent on signing autographs and reading fan mail and focus more on performing, recording and the very important (but often neglected) personal life.

Holly: "This is parallel universe, innit?...for instance, in this universe...It could be something even more incredible, like perhaps Ringo was a really good drummer."

I'm sure Pete Best would appreciate the attention.
