Someone declared May 11th "Zombie Appreciation Day."

I was a little late to hear this news, but I don't know what it means to "appreciate" a zombie and I don't think I want to know either.

But since I'm talking about zombies, here's an Tim McGraw album cover parody I was inspired to make for Halloween last year after watching the premiere of The Walking Dead:

Started writing a parody as well, which maybe I'll share here in time for Halloween 2011.

I appreciate your taking the time to explain this, Dave, but it seems you took me too literally.

What's ironic is that my comment was intended to be taken literally, but it was a subtle, tongue-in-cheeky thing that seems to have been lost in translation.

I believe, personally, that Zombie appreciation day is for the creation of the mystical characters known as Zombies and the profound impact they've had on all forms of entertainment. Obviously if zombies were really coming after us, killing people and thus turning them into "mindless eating machines" (to quote Bruce from Finding Nemo) we'd have a different view of Zombies, but from a horror, comedy, dementia and Halloween apparel standpoint, zombies are to be appreciated:)

Exactly. . .and even with Somalia, Pirates are still pretty well viewed in the entertainment industry, we don't appreciate "piracy" we appreciate the character of pirates as independent rogue, anti-mainstream personalities. . .not the activity of real pirates in Somalia or the historical activities they embody.

That description works for pirates as well. It was all good fun until Somalia. No fun goes on there. But then pirates already have their own appreciation day of sorts.
