fiogf49gjkf0d Try to find a unit that records onto rewritable DVDs that has a tuner; you'll get the same result. I bought a Panasonic from Best Buy around 4 years ago on sale for $309 that had a tuner in it, and we've used it ever since to records shows when we're away - just like we were able to do with a $49 VCR. It's been acting up lately so I've been on the Internet looking for a replacement...no success. Every model I've seen will ONLY record a show that is playing on your TV at that moment; no way will they let you record channel 2 while watching channel 4.
God, how I miss VCRs!

fiogf49gjkf0d I think you may need to go the internet to find that now. Try J&R Music, newegg and whatever what that have a large selection of machines.
