Yeah, I "Googled" it too, went through every page of hits, and also found nothing useful. I did see that "Roadrunner" was for sale on a couple sites. I like the truck driving genre. Songs of the open road.

I had the Cledus Maggard and the Citizen's Band "White Knight" album on 8-track way back when 8-track was still considered "state of the art". Needless to say, that album is no longer among my collection. Sad, because White Knight was not the best song on the album.

Thankfully, I bought K-Tel's "Movin' On" on cassette. White Knight is right at the beginning of that one.

I remember the Tommy Hill Music Festival version. I have it on an LP called Road Music (they also covered Convy), which was distributed by Tee Vee Records in Canada and Gusto Records in the U.S. Gusto Records also distributed "Roadrunner".

I googled "Tommy Hill Music Festival" and got nothing about the artist. Just links to albums with their music on it... all of them being inferior covers of somebody else's song. I wonder if they were just a group of session musicians who covered songs that would have cost too much to license from the original artist's version.

I have this song on an old Truck Driving themed 8-Track tape titled "Roadrunner." It is similar to this version but it is attributed to a group called "Tommy Hill's Music Festival"

I am surprised to discover this was not played on Dr. Demento until the 3/1/2009 with a tribute mention noting his passing last December. Therefore, I must of had this on one of my own comedy tapes, as I know the song quite well.
