Show Facts: |
There's only one actual patriotic song in this show - but it's not featured until the end of the show and even then, only for a minute+. It's "The Liberty Bell (March)", better known as the Monty Python theme. It serves as the bgm for this episode. (Stavro Arrgolus) |
Obscure Reference: Near the end, the Consul says that "preamble" is one word & not two. In the song, Lynn Ahrens first pronounces the word as "pre-amble" as if it were two words. If it's not really anal to catch that, I don't know what is. (Stavro Arrgolus) |
This show was written to be cynical, un-PC and generally nasty, as per the usual. And it is...until the very end when it turns patriotic for real and ceases to be the sarcastic send-up originally planned. This is the last 4th of July show in the "before times". If I had known what was coming, I'd have been even more cynical. (Stavro Arrgolus) |
