Yes the search engine here only gives exact match results. If "The" is not in the song title it is impossible to get a match if you search for The Pilgrim Song. But that song is in the archive and you could have found it easily by searching for "Pilgrim" or "Pilgrim Song" or even "Song".
The same goes for Artist searches - spelling is important.
You can also do a partial match search - i.e. You can find "Weird Al" Yankovic buy searching for Weird, Al, Weird Al, or Yankovic. Yank would also bring up any artist whose name starts with those letters.
Using The is probably not the best way to use the search.
I hope this helps you to better use the search function in the future.
(buy spending a few extra minutes to verify songs and artists could save us all from having to deal with "Funky Butts" merge problems later on.) Thanks

Dan C:
I just checked myself to verify..... If you type "The Pilgrim Song" in the search feature it shows NO results. If you type "Pilgrim Song" it shows up on the search. So the search feature isn't 100% reliable in this case.

Your Pilgrim Song is already in the archive because I played it last year.
