It was 25 years ago (1983) when we finally convinced Tom Baker to fly to Palo Alto and attend the first Dr Who Convention in his honor. I was in charge of the Huckster's Room and didn't get a chance to meet him. (Although I hear he really enjoyed the rest of my family.) After it was all over my wife handed me this:

Tom had a fear of flying and said he would never come to the states for that reason. Took a lot of sweet talk to convince him. Marcus Tee

Thanks jmanforever, Eric, Pete, Marcus Tee, fm123, and anyone else I missed.
I now have more doctors than I can shake a cat at.

OMFG!! Ponies!! 11!!11!! ROFLMAO!!!!!

Bravo Dave.

This one tops the pile by far.

...oh, by the way... my teenage son says you forgot Dr. Phil, who I'm sure would approve of The Mad Music Show, as long as it feels right to YOU!

Back at the start of the '80s about the only way to enjoy the show was to buy the supplemental material, the books, souveniers and such. Once I could own DVDs (or WHS) I preffered to spend money on those first.

I'm just nuts enough to own several written by Peter Haining in the '80s. "Doctor Who- A Celebration", "Doctor Who- The Key To Time", "Doctor Who- The Time Traveler's Guide", " The Doctor Who File"...it goes on relentlessly, I expect, but I stopped at 4- unless you count "The Doctor Who Technical Manual" from a few years earlier. God, what some of us would rather have than money...

So, would Dr. Demento be the Eleventh Doctor? If so, he needs to regenerate.

...or maybe he's the twelfth Doctor...I heard they only have 12 regenerations...or did they change that? Somebody needs to write all this stuff down! A Doctor Who Compendium would be agreat resource...but larager than the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," I suspect. along the lines of The Woodchuck Manual...that had to be the original E-book!

Tom Baker is the Real Doctor. The rest are replicants.

If that's the case, then I think Dr. Demento takes his business too seriously. This is only for fun!

Back to what I said about Dr. Demento liking it. It could be a legal matter if he thinks it's using his likeness for commercial purposes.

Actually, you ought to e-mail that banner to Dr. Demento. I'll bet he will get a kick out of it!

Dave, your banners are incredible!

On a side note, Hu plays shortstop for the Dodgers.

Thank you Wendy, Sick Puppy, Stavro, Tim, and Terri.
If I can make one of you smile or chuckle or LOL, then I have succeeded in using my limited talents. HalfBee writes limericks, Tim moderates, Stavro edits song & artist data, others write songs or produce shows, and I try to make funny banners. That is my contribution to this site and my fellow members. Thanks for all your kind words and support.

I'm sure if he isn't mad at us already because of all the crap we wrote about his questionable business practices, this is unlikely to send him over the edge.

>>I certainly hope Dr. Demento doesn't get mad.

So you count the TV movie guy, huh? I know... Sylvester McCoy regenerated into him, so he's in the canon. Does Dr. Who have a canon? Just wondering. To me, if he never appeared in the TV show, he's no more one of the Doctors than Peter Cushing was in those Who movies where they actually called his character "Dr. Who" which of course, is wrong. "Doctor" is the name of the character. "Dr. Who" is the name of the series. And only once in the series was that mistake made. In the Hartnell serial called "The War Machines". But I digress again...

He's the 9th or 10th...

David Tennant is the 10th doctor

He's the 9th or 10th, depending on whether you count that TV movie guy. If you count him, you have to count Peter Cushing as well. Don't get me started.

Just to go along with it all- I suppose you could say William Hartnell was on first...

Oh, that's good. That's very good. When I saw the bit about '3 out of 4 doctors...' I LOLed as they say these days. And not a helluva lot amuses me anymore. Good one, Dave.
