Win9 will be the next big thing. Win8 sucks.
Win7 was the big thing last year, before that WinVista sucked.
WinXP was the big thing before that, and WinME sucked before that.
It's every-other version that seems to work. (though they ALL suck, really)

I read somewhere they're going to replace Windows 8 entirely next year and it'll become just another Vista mistake. I hope the story's not crap. Hopefully, this machine won't need replacing until then.

fiogf49gjkf0d Windows 8 isn't terrible. The GUI is a mess, but I know that they're enabling a BOOT TO DESKTOP mode with the next update. The "charms" screen is useful if you're trying to quickly find a program and is much less tedious than the old Windows search function was. While I still prefer XP and 7, I can at least work with 8. Unfortunately, it is built as more of a casual use OS, rather than for any kind of actual work. My XP lap top is a power house for most things, for instance.

fiogf49gjkf0d I just got a new laptop with Windows 8, and the only thing really wrong with it is that damn Metrosexual interface.. or whatever they call it. It is absolutely useless without a touch-screen...
However, if you just add "Classic Shell" www.classicshell.net/ ...then everything is just groovy!! For FREE!!!
Forget the 8.1 upgrade.
