Song Lyrics: |
There's no doubt about it. You cannot beat the great Australian outdoor life.
Oh, I was down by Manly Pier, drinkin' tubes of ice cold beer With a bucket full of prawns upon me knee But when I swallowed the last prawn, I had a technicolor yawn and I chundered in the old Pacific Sea
Drink it up, drink it up, Crack another dozen tubes and prawns with me If you want to throw your voice, mate you won't have any choice But to chunder in the old Pacific Sea
I was sittin in the surf, when a mate of mine called Murf Asks if he can crack a tube or two with me The bastard barely swallowed it When he went for the big spit and he chundered in the old Pacific Sea
Oh, drink it up, drink it up Crack another dozen tubes and prawns with me If you want to throw your voice, mate you won't have any choice But to chunder in the old Pacific Sea
I've had liquid laughs in bars and I've hurled from moving cars And I've chuckled when and where it suited me But if I could choose the spot To regurgitate me lot, then I'd chunder in the old Pacific Sea
Come on, drink it up, drink it up Crack another dozen tubes and prawns with me If you want to throw your voice, mate you won't have any choice But to chunder in the old Pacific Sea
(burp)...'Scuse I (Stavro Arrgolus) |

It happened again. Some bastard replaced the mp3 for their own convenience. I snagged a copy from a Dr. D. show, so now the newly added mp3 has both the burp & "excuse I" as well as the breath he takes when the track begins.

|
I just listened to this and it's the mp3 itself that doesn't include the burp at the end. Maybe someday one will find an mp3 with the burp included that way it can be played in it's entirety.

Thanks for adding this song! I just wish the online shows that play it wouldn't keep cutting out the part at the very end of the original recording, where Barry burps loudly and says, "'Scuse I!"

fiogf49gjkf0d Thanks, Judge. I added the Sydney angle when I googled it again and I saw pictures with it spelled 'Manly'. They must have named it a looong time ago. Can't name something that these days without some type of connotation attached to it all. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

fiogf49gjkf0d I don't know the song, but I suspect that it's "Manley", which I think is in Sydney.

fiogf49gjkf0d Doesn't hurt to ask and we've Australian members who might know this.
In the first line of this song, is it spelled the way it sounds-"Manly" Pier or some other way like "Manleigh"? I'd like to get this right. I've searched for it and have seen both and another version that says it's "Bondi" Pier, though that's not what's sung in this one.
