fiogf49gjkf0d This is the not-so-long awaited parodic response to what ASCAP wants. They actually don't have a problem with me performing parodies or allowing parodies on my site, what they want is royalties to allow them on my site, and while $340 doesn't sound like a lot--it is when you are struggling in the construction industry for work and can't find work. It's also a lot for a non-profit artist who is trying to expose more people to the wonderful comedic world of parody. I was going to sell this song on this site, however, I decided for now that the song itself is not inciteful, because it doesn't name trash or say anything that I think ASCAP would disagree with. . .but selling it would probably make it to where something can't be worked out and right now I'm really trying to work things out. I will begin selling chipmunk versions of my biggest hits here possibly as soon as next week, over 80% of the profits for that will go towards bringing back a newer, stronger badave that is a safe haven for parody and comedy alike, I don't agree with ASCAP on the issue, but for personal reasons don't have the ability--even if money wasn't the big issue--to go to court. For me this is truly a hobby. . .not a profession or a dream job, but a hobby. Viva Badave! Vote for this song for the DT Top 20 please, The more exposure the better, I hope you enjoy my not so insiteful, but very heart filled piece about my dealings with this situation. Please note that in addition to restoring badave, the back charge thing is not a joke, I don't know yet if they are going to try and make me come up with money for having posted on my site. . .so I may need donations anyway to head that off. . .all donations will be used towards Badave related expenses--primarily the restoration of the site's sections, and improvements upon them to allow me to become a safe place for parodists everywhere to post their work.
