Background about the song:
There is a song by R.E.M. called "Superman", and then, there is this takeoff where the subject is a person who is totally the opposite of Superman. While Superman can run faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings with a single junp, and more, Nothingman is the exact opposite of Superman.
Where the humor in the recording comes from:
Nothingman's lack of being able to do anything is taken to the degree of ridiculous extreme, about 180 degrees off of what Superman is able to do. Overexaggeration of his very weak unpowers is where the humor originates from. (davidtanny) |
