Actually, you can handle that stuff now.. On the right of every message, under "controls" are a bunch of little icons. If you hover oven them they tell you what they do.

1. To kill those old, unwanted messages, just click the "Delete" Icon on each message. It'll go away forever.

2.) To clear that banner message, click the "Mark as Read" on old messages. Once everything is marked as read, the banner message disappears and only comes back when you have a new, unread message.

3. To get back to the list, in case there is no banner, on your MadSpace page there is a link on the left "My Messages" that will take you there.

Since you asked... There's a message at the top of every page saying 'You have an unread message - CLICK HERE to read messages' and it does take you to the messages list, but it never goes away after reading them.

There's also no way to get rid of messages, have some from long ago trolls and such still hanging around that also would be nice to purge periodically.

I don't think that's feasible right now. We could have a lot of people doing that at the same time and I don't think I have the bandwidth for a lot of simultaneous streams. I'm not really sure though, I'd have to investigate further and do some calculations. I'll look into it.

I'll have to look into the legality of that too - that's a lot like on-demand playing which we can't do.

I would love to be able to make my own playlist of dementia songs, like a show except it's all request and I'm the only requester since there are lots of dementia songs no where to be found on YouTube or anywhere else of the kind.

First responder... You win!

I have added a button to the message editor that allows you to paste HTML, like an embed tag. You copy the embed from YouTube (or wherever) and then paste it into your message. It's the 3rd button in the second group of the second line, the tooltip says "Paste Html". Then you can do this...

There is the potential for this to get misused, so consider it temporary. If it becomes a problem I'll have to restrict it to only certain user levels and permissions.

After losing the ability to post Flash videos, I've always wanted to be able to post mp4 videos directly in my madspace blog. Never could figure out how to do it.

Here's a thread designed to make me question my life choices.

What would you like to complain about with this site?

I certainly have complaints. I bet you do too!

1. Performance is slow on this server - I'm going to have to do some tune-ups on the server software. I see there's a LOT of things that you can do to speed up response times so I'll be addressing them over time, seeing what works and what doesn't

2. The site needs a facelift. It's too "technical looking" for the general public. I need to work on Version 6 of the website - slicker, more modern looking, a better UX experience. I'll propose some ideas in a different thread for our power users.

Please understand that I still believe in the site, that it can help spread dementia and comedy to the masses. Help me out - let me know what things needs to be addressed so that I can prioritize things and delegate what I can. Thanks!
