I'm aware some stare at my hair.
In fact, to be fair,
some really despair of my hair.
But I don't care
'cause they're not aware
nor are they debonair
In fact, they're just square Stavro Arrgolus

This was the first of Carlin's 'Little David' albums. In established Carlin's change to 'counterculture comedy'. Though 'Shoot' and 'The Hair Piece' fit in with the new style (the album opens with them), much of the rest of the album used bits from his earlier career. 'Divorce Game' is the obvious example. It's not until the 'Class Clown' album that the new material really comes together.Stavro Arrgolus

The album title was meant to say it all- "FM" was the A side, which had all the 'new', counterculture material Carlin was introducing with this album and "AM" referred to the B side and its earlier, more "borscht belt" style material he had relied on up until then. (Stavro Arrgolus) |
