This is the most recent Dr. Demento Show playlist posted in The Mad Music Archive; any plans to catch up?

I remember a while back, Dr. D's people told Wayne to stop posting the show playlists and remove the ones that were there, even though they're posted with no problem in other places. I forget how that ended. No laws against posting them. Playlists aren't 'intellectual property.'

What was played on a radio show or station is fair game to anybody who wants to "report" on what was played. I see no problem with posting playlists of radio shows.

I thought Dr. D just wanted him to stop hosting the shows themselves.

That was what he wanted
first
. So Wayne changed the site name and stopped hosting the shows. Then he wanted all references to his show removed, i.e., the playlists. That was where Wayne drew the line. The Demento playlists appeared in other places with no difficulties. This amounted to harassment of just
us
.
There's considerably more to it (history page badly needs updating), but basically it's been an antagonistic six year relationship that Wayne wishes to improve now.

If you look into the Google Groups archiving of the discussion group
rec.music.dementia
one will see that a fan-based
Open Source
* project was started as early as 1990. At that time one was asking for just the Funny 5, but soon after fans were reporting all that they heard on the current radio show. Some began posting what they had from older shows collected from their tapes or distribution LPs of the show. David Tanny was reporting playlists along with some of the narrative heard on the show circa 1993. By around 1995, Dr. Demento was sending the playlist to a member to be posted in that group, as he did not want or have access to the group. If that did not happen, fans would have continued that listen then post routine. Playlists always were sent to the radio stations with the distribution media (tape, LPs or CDs) and could/would be made available to those inquiring as part of their documents for public review.
* Okay, it was not labeled Open Source back then, but followed the idea of an Open Source project as we would know it in slightly newer terminology.

The Dr. Demento playlists used to appear on my songs.davesfunstuff.com page until Jeff Morris questioned my use of the playlists as many of the songs he played were linking to several sites on Amazon.com. I took them down as well as all references to Dr. Demento as a result and reformatted the site so it was just the funny songs listed a2z with songs linking to Amazon. Due to lack of site visitors, songs.davesfunstuff.com has been reduced to just a search page for Amazon.
California bill AB155, if becomes law. will result in Amazon deaffilliating with 10,000 California-based Amazon affilliates including myself.
Already, FunnyCities and Dementia Pages have shut down as they were dependent on Amazon's affilliate relation for its existance, plus sales for the funny albums were almost nonexistant in two years.
What most of you didn't know that I started posting Dr. Demento show playlists in one of the Compuserve forums in 1993 before I heard of rec.music.dementia.
I quit posting some narrative Dr. Demento playlists in 1997 when he lost his KSCA job and Internet streaming was back then undependable.
