...Okay...? Why can't I listen to the Dr. Demento Show? I have listened to Dr. Demento for over 30 years (December 1979, to be exact), until it wasn't available in my area any more. I used to have Dr. Demento parties on Sunday nights when it was played on KYYS out of Kansas City over 30 years ago. When KYYS dropped it, I listened to it on KEYN out of Wichita, until they dropped it. Then we listened to it online, until the good Dr. requested that it not be streamed on the internet. I was tickled silly when I saw it here, and I can't listen to it; what gives...? I'm a hardcore Dementoid, and this annoys me...! ( Read; "...This pisses me off...!" )
Let me relate to you an actual incident that really happened in late July of '82. I was leaving Ottawa (Ks) to go home to Emporia, and I told everyone that I wanted 1 last big Dr. Demento Show party there before I left... There were over 100 people there. (I did not expect this.) The house was packed. The porch was packed. There were people lounging in the front yard. I had a keg, I had Strawberry Daiquiris, I had ...uhm... 'other stuff'. I had a 400 watt stereo. I had huge studio speakers. We were a bit loud.
A Police cruiser pulled up to the house, and 2 officers got out. (The neighbors didn't report me; most of them were partying with us, the Cop House was only 2 blocks up the street, and they probably just heard us and decided to investigate.) I was not in the house, I was on the porch; I watched the whole thing happen. Someone in the house turned the stereo down, and everyone in the house came out on the lawn. They apparently didn't notice that there were so many of us. The 2nd officer got out, and the driver got out and walked around the car to the 2nd officer, they started up towards the house and realized there were 2 of them and 100 of us... They looked at all of us, looked at each other, looked at all of us again, looked at each other again, and got back in their cruiser and left. It must have taken 10 minutes for us to quit laughing. It is one of my life's fondest memories.
(If you would, please forward this to the good Dr.; I'm sure he will enjoy the story.)
I look forward to hearing from you on this matter, you may contact me here:

Thank you; have a great day! :)

You can hear Doctor Demento's show from his website... for a small fee. Of course, there's also a great assortment of shows available right here that can be streamed for free!! You can have a Captain Wayne party any time you like.
I would suspect he would likely poke his head in here every now and then, just to see what's going on. So it's likely he might see your story.
