Hi David -
Love the Time Machine shows. Great job w/ them. I notice you have had a show for every year in the 1980s except 1986, 1987, and 1989 (I Believe). Would be interested in time machine shows for those years. Thanks so much.

Maybe David gave up on pop music around the time I did - for me, it was in 1985.

They're coming up. I'm also planning to double the output of the MMCZ sometime soon. 26 episodes for the MMA have been produced, mostly with songs from the dismantled David Tanny Podcast (the version prior to Aug 2010 that used to feature other people's music before bandwidth outages on Podomatic became too frequent).
Years already featured: 1971, 1975, 1976, 1980-1985, 1988, 1990, 2000
For me, I gave up around 1998. Been sporadic since then. Cee-Lo's F-ck You song got my attention though. ;-)
Might also bring back the 80s Lost and Found feature as soon as I get enough requests for songs. I mix in some novelty songs along the way there too.

I'd contribute an assload of pre-1985 songs of all kinds when the time comes if you put a thread here for it. No rap- no hair metal -guaranteed. Those things are what caused me to give up on music in '85. It all seemed to turn to crap then. One minute, you're listening to Prince and then Bon Jovi and Afrika Bambaataa become inescapable. You want to know why old people listen to Enya and Wolfgang Petry- I'll tell you why. So we never have to listen to Whitesnake or Poison again, that's why. Just play me a Ramones tune every now and again and I'll be content.

You can just e-mail me your likes (and a few DISLIKES that you want me to feature on the TORTURE segment).

Oh, yes. I remember contributing a couple for the torture segment recently. Got plenty more.
Have you ever heard the rest of that Falco album (Falco 3) that 'Rock Me Amadeus' comes from? Go on- Play me the super snide "Amerika'. Or maybe "Macho Macho" - and yes it
is
what you think it's about. How about "Manner Des Westens" (Any Kind of Land) It's trippy, coke fueled Europop. He might still be making it if he didn't crash into that bus in the Caribbean.

I got one via e-mail for the torture segment
The Conga by the Miami Sound Machine
I think that the torture segments would work best with well-known pop songs, like the ones that drove some listeners nuts when it got played on the radio.
